The Cheesecake Challenge!

The cakes. More arrived later. My contribution was the marbled cake just below the pineapple cake.

The eating begins.

Voting was taken very seriously. My favorite was Michael's lemon-ginger cheesecake in the box closest to the front above.

An unforgettable cheesecake challenge took place yesterday afternoon at Corie's apartment in Park Slope. In all, about a dozen cheesecakes were tasted. All were good. Doug, Tien, Chris, Dahl, Sam, Linus, José,and many others brought cakes. A big thanks goes to Corie for organizing and hosting the challenge.
Rather than halve the recipe for a smaller pan, I made two cakes: one plain, the other chocolate-marbled. The cakes tasted fine, but I must have overmixed them as they suffered from a significant collapse. The plain cake, which I intended to bring, was the more severely collapsed, so I brought the marbled cake instead.
