That's a Strawberry-Cardamom, Blueberry-Lime, Cherry-Ginger Cobbler I put together for Shelley's party Saturday.  It sounds complicated but the only real work is slicing the strawberries and pitting the cherries.  The strawberries lose a greater portion of their volume when they cook.  Next time I'll use an entire quart.

Any chance you'll share that recipe with us? It looks delicious!

If only there were a recipe! It was largely improvised, but here goes:

Pre-heat oven to 375.

To 1 pt pitted sour cherries add a half cup of sugar and a teaspoon or less of freshly grated ginger.

To a little more than a pint of blueberries add 1/3 c of sugar, the juice of half a lime, and a little bit of grated lime peel.

I didn't do so but adding a tablespoon of flour or half a teaspoon of cornstarch to the cherry and blueberry mixtures would have thickened them a bit.

Halve or quarter a quart of strawberries. Add a tablespoon of sugar and a quarter teaspoon of ground cardamom.

Attractively arrange the three fruits in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish, or two 9-inch pie pans.

The recipe I used for the topping was that used for the Strawberry-Mango Cobbler in the Moosewood Cooks Dessert cookbook. Any standard buttermilk biscuit will do.

Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until topping is golden brown.

Good luck!

Joe, you are a real baker. Whereas, I am not: When I saw the second photo, I thought to myself, ah, another thing I can make with Bisquick. NOt that I thought you would use Bisquick.

Bisquick will work! I bet if you were to mix 2 cups of Bisquik with 2/3 cup of buttermilk 2 eggs lightly beaten and a teaspoon of vanilla you'd have something pretty similar to what I made.

You are right, though, I would never use Bisquick.

That looks great!

Where can I find that candle holder?

I've no idea on the candle holder. I was just a guest. Do get dripless candles though as there was a waxy build-up on the table by dessert time.

Out here in CA, it's hot enough to roast a pig on the sidewalk. That pool sure looks good.

i got the candle holders at a tag sale somewhere east of the middle of connecticut. i think i paid $10.00 for both of them, one is kinda bent, but no one noticed! the candles are trader joe's dripless... but even a slight breeze and nothing is dripless. joe's cobbler was a huge hit!
