Holiday Confusion

Shamrock_wreath

Someone on lower West End Ave is confused about the holidays.  West End Ave may be the most boring street in the city.  It is fifty blocks of almost nothing but big apartment buildings and a smattering of churches and synagogues.  ABC has studios at 66th St. and the Calhoun School building further uptown looks like a television.  Somewhere in my vast archives I have a photo of the latter.

The one redeeming feature of West End Ave is Toga Bikes, where I had the gear shifts changed on my bike this afternoon.  That place is a madhouse of activity on summer weekends, but, as I expected, was quiet as a mouse midweek on a late-winter's day.
