Minuteman

The weekend I was in Boston was Patriot's Day weekend - the anniversary of Paul Revere's ride and the start of the Revolutionary War.  This is the statue of John Parker, captain of the Lexington militia, on Lexington Green.  I missed battle re-enactment on the green as it was conducted at the historically accurate time of 5:45 a.m.

"Listen my children and you shall hear of the midnight ride of Paul Revere."

Grade school flashbacks!

We saw Paul Revere riding his horse on Monday on our way out for lunch. Just a guy dressed up on a horse with a few cars behind him. One was the electric company and I don't think they had anything to do with Paul.

One thing Wordsworth and our grade school teachers gloss over is that the Minutemen spent the night before the battle in a tavern. I'd guess they were well soused at the time of battle.

Were the British chasing Revere?
