A few miles upstream from Point Pleasant I crossed the Ohio to enter Ohio at Pomeroy. Unbeknownst to me beforehand, there was a Sternwheel Festival taking place in Pomeroy. The festival wasn't too exciting, especially after Mothman, but the town had several pretty buildings.
The grandest building is the Meigs County Courthouse, which has the distinction of being the only three-story county building that has entrances on all three floors.
Pomeroy has another distinction, according to Ripley's Believe it or Not (via Wikipedia). Being squeezed between the Ohio and steep hills, it is the only town in the country without a four-way intersection. Hence the awkward village slogan "We got no four-ways, but you can get in the courthouse three ways".
Bonus: The Plastiquarium.
