The leaves on lots of maple trees have gotten these brown edges lately. I don't think these are sugar maples, though, so maybe we'll still have a colorful autumn.

I've always called those hard maples, but I don't know if that's right.

I think hard maples are the same as sugar maples, but there are a lot of different kinds of maples.
When maples turn red, summer is dead. Edges of brown, soon on the ground.
