Late last week a chrome-covered fiberglass sculpture was erected in the northwest corner of Union Square as a temporary monument to Andy Warhol. The Andy Monument was created by Rob Pruitt and placed at the corner where Warhol had one incarnation of his Factory and where he handed copies of Interview magazine to passers by. It sure is shiny, and a monument to Warhol is an excellent idea for New York, but I'm not convinced this one does him justice. The sculpture will be on display until early October.

well, it must be all silver and shiney to recall when he had the Factory completely covered inside with aluminum foil. i kinda like it.
