
This has been a tough week for those in the creative arts. Everyone has heard of Harvey Korman and Bo Diddley dying. Two other people are worthy of mention. Alton Kelley died
this past weekend. He was the artist responsible for the
concert posters that have come to define 1960s San Francisco.
Also dying was
Earle Hagen, the composer of theme songs to many television series including "The Andy Griffith Show", "The Dick Van Dyke Show", "Gomer Pyle", "The Mod Squad", "I Spy" etc. He was also the composer of "Harlem Nocturne" the saxophone standard that has been covered at least 500 times. You can hear

Not dead but still worth mentioning, my friend Jake of
Bluejake fame is one of the photographers featured in WNYC's
street photography series.
