These abandoned bikes sometimes confuse me. Here's a case where someone has painstakingly hand-painted their bicycle. They carefully painted the Swiss flag on the front post, and wrote "Swiss Miss" on both sides of the crossbar. That's the mark of a caring bike owner. Certainly not someone who would abandon their ride. Yet, here it makes its last stand chained to a sign post. Or, did some drunken Lower East Side hipsters do a number on the bike last night on the way home from a downtown club?
