Mexico, New York's most famous product is Grandma Brown's Baked Beans. As you see the beans come in many convenient sizes (I didn't buy the picnic-sized pan of beans). Put them in a pan, pour some maple syrup on top, and bake for 15 minutes in an oven pre-heated to 350 degrees. No other baked beans compare. Cold with white bread and a little bit of ketchup they also make excellent sandwiches.
10 June 2004: I wouldn't normally update an old post, but people keep submitting comments wanting to buy the beans from me. Other than the photos above, the cans of beans in my kitchen cupboard, and that they sponsored my little league team in 1973, I have no connection to the company. If you want to order beans try either Ontario Orchards, or Hometown Favorites. I've never ordered from either place, but they carry the beans. If you want more information about Grandma Brown's give them a call at 315-963-7221.
