I caught this sunset while walking along the Hudson River Park this afternoon. The framing isn't a photoshop trick. The railing along the river had metal plates spaced every few feet and the plates had holes at their corners. I shot the photo through one of the holes.
The building is New Jersey's tallest. I think it is owned by Merrill Lynch. The octagonal shape to the left is the Colgate Clock, the world's largest, according to Ms. Komorowski's class at PS 27.
Actually, it's owned by Goldman Sachs. The previously tallest building in New Jersey, 101 Hudson St, is owned by Merrill Lynch. You can see it to the right of the Goldman Sachs building, 30 Hudson St. 30 Hudson St was designed by Cesar-Pelli, the architect who also designed the World Financial Center's Winter Garden and the area around the WFC Ferry. They also did the Petronas Towers in Malaysia, currently (but not for long) the tallest buildings in the world.
