Sorry if you've had problems accessing these pages the past couple of days. Typepad has been having difficulties lately. Should I make the big leap to Movable Type? But I digress, feast your eyes on this:
Make no mistake. These are discarded Christmas trees. This is March 11th.
The picture quality isn't great. I was late for the bus this morning, but I did a double-take, and had to take a quick photo, when I saw these two trees waiting at the curb. The trees were a couple doors down from Amy Ruth's on 116th St.
What a coincidence -- I saw a different christmas tree hitting the curb this afternoon.

I saw one on 17th street the other day. I thought it had to be the last one around. Guess not.

i saw one last week, as well. what's up with people? and how did they get the needles to stay on for so long?

yeah, that's insane. the needles alone would have driven me insane. and what about the people that visit their apartment? all this coming from someone who keeps tons of newspapers.

Who knew so many people kept their trees for so long. Might people keep trees on their fire escapes and forget they are there until the weather warms? That there are two trees leads me to believe that somebody had both in their apartment. Wouldn't that have taken up a lot of space in a tenement?
