Lenox Avenue, the street I live on, is the continuation of Sixth Ave. north of Central Park. The name was changed to Lenox more than a century ago. The library of James Lenox was one of two libraries, the other being the Astor library, that were combined to form the New York Public Library. The name of the street was changed to Malcolm X Blvd nearly twenty years ago, but everybody still calls it Lenox.
This is the first of two posts. The three pictures below are of the two blocks south of my building.
A newly renovated building at 115th and Lenox. I don't know if they are still working on the interior but the outside is done. Looks nice, don't you think?

Yes, I almost wrote "Poor MLK looks like he's being goosed" but then realized that yesterday was the anniversary of his death and thought that was a bit tacky. Today, however, is another day!
