Neckface works on different scales. The vertical photo was taken at the 4th Avenue F train station in Brooklyn. The rooftop is between the 4th Ave and Smith/9th St. stations. Sorry about the poor quality of the latter.
I went to the Brooklyn Museum yesterday. It had been a couple of years since I was last there and I wanted to see the new entrance in addition to the art. The art was enjoyable. The new entrance was underwhelming to say the least. A grand staircase was replaced with a generic glass and steel structure that opens onto a completely empty lobby. I didn't see the Alexis Rockman fantasy mural Manifest Destiny commissioned for the museum to celebrate the renovation. The mural shows a decayed Brooklyn of the future. Nice.
I also went to Red Hook to see more art. The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition hosts the Pier Art show every summer in a Civil War era warehouse on a Red Hook pier. I didn't get to see much. The Times said the show was open until 8 p.m., but it actually closed at 6. That left me about 15 minutes to see anything. Maybe I'll go back next weekend.
