Bill Clinton is signing his autobiography this evening at the Hue-Man Bookstore at 124th and Frederick Douglass Blvd. That's just a few blocks out of my way so I decided to take a look.
The bookstore is tiny. They sold 2000 copies beforehand and only purchasers of the book would get to meet the former president.
Clinton was scheduled to arrive at 6:30. It was a little before six when I got there. The line stretched from Frederick Douglass to Manhattan Ave. and was beginning to curve toward 125th St. There was also a large group of people on Frederick Douglass. Given Clinton's legendary ability to run late I did not stick around.
People are a bit less enthusiastic about our current president.
