That's why you have to eat the very tiny chapulines. Large chapulines - bad ( I supposse because you can see, and feel, what you are eating). Tiny chapulines- good. In Oaxaca, Mexico (where the Chapulines are from) indian women sell Chapulines on the streets and at the market, and usually charge more for the smallest grasshoppers, which are the most sought after.
