Did you ever notice how nasty the city makes rats look in the rat poison signs? Don't get me wrong, I don't think rats are pretty, but the lumpiness and odd body mis-alignment on either side of the slash make the critter above look absolutely evil.
Robert Sullivan, the author of Rats: Observations on the History and Habitat of the City's Most Unwanted Inhabitants is reading at 7:00 tonight at McNally Robinson on Prince St. between Mulberry and Lafayette (read an interview with Sullivan).
My visit to Eden's Alley, where Sullivan spent a year observing rats (my photos used to be much smaller!).
Unrelated: The battle at Spotsylvania Court House was fought on this day in 1864. My great-great grandfather was there.
He is really lumpy and his ears are too big. Looks like a cut-out made with school scissors. Rats get no love.
