wow. careful, it's a gigantic spider that is luring humans like you.


what kind of spider makes a web like this? can you find out?


I don't know what kind of spider it is. I wiggled the web a bit but it didn't take the bait, so to speak.


i looked around and found out that it is the web of a funnelweb spider! fancy that! there are more than 400 species of same in North America.

also, happened upon this:

it's not about funnelweb spiders, but it's interesting anyway.(the first story on the page)


Good sleuthing! I read that the funnelweb spider's web was once used to dress wounds!


wow, fascinating. they must be very, um, absorbent?

actually i think my grandmother used to put a bit of spiderweb on a cut.

did you happen to look at the page i told you about? just massive webs all over a field. but not funnelwebs :(


Yes, I did see the massive webs. I've been trying to put the image out of my mind ever since.
