A fluorescent bulb on the uptown 8th Street platform was going haywire one day. I made a little movie out of it with a serendipitous and loud (you've been warned) MTA narration. View as a 500KB mp4 file or a 3.3MB avi file. Both played via QuickTime. I had problems getting them to work with Windows Media Player.
Unrelated but good: Tomorrow is the last day to see Abraham Lincoln's draft of the Emancipation Proclamation. The original, final, document was destroyed by fire years ago. The Proclamation is part of the New-York Historical Society's excellent Slavery in New York exhibition. The exhibition continues through March but the proclamation is fragile and can only be on display for 80 hours per year.
