Conversation overheard while waiting in line to vote this morning:
Thirty-ish woman: This year is not important but 2006 is the big election.
Another woman in her thirties: What's happening next year?
1st woman: We vote for Senator.
2nd woman: Oh, Hilary?
1st woman: No, that other guy... Schulman.
2nd woman: Schulman?
1st: Wait, Schumer. Senator Schumer and that woman, Pirro.
2nd: Oh, I like her. Are Senators elected for two years or six years?
1st: Six years, and they're very important.
2nd: Why's that?
1st: Because there's only like a hundred of them in the whole world.
2nd: Only a hundred?
1st: Yes, that's why they're so powerful.
That is perfect. Schools should teach that.

person 1: Are you voting in the election?
person 2: Election? Didn't we do that last year?
