Stayman Winesap and Mutsu apples
I bought the giant apple solely because it was so big. What to do with it? It's too big to eat. It'll make a couple dozen muffins or two apple cakes, both of which are too much for me. Hmmm, maybe I'll make some pie. A one-apple pie!
any measurements on said apple?

Excellent question! The smaller apple is 10 inches in circumference at its widest point, the large apple is 13.25 inches in circumference. Slightly larger than a baseball and softball, respectively.
Assuming the apples are close to a sphere, the volume of the big apple is 39.3 cubic inches, more than two times the volume of the small apple.

So, five days later...How is the apple doing?

The apple is resting in the fridge. I will likely turn it and some others into applesauce.
