A couple of days ago I noticed that the snowdrops and crocuses had emerged in Morningside Park. They've got a few days before they bloom but they are out of the ground three weeks earlier than last year. If the weather forecast is accurate the flowers may get a rude awakening next week.
I've usually seen the turkey in the upper portions of the park. I guess she needed a change of scenery yesterday.
those plants need some help--how about artifical intelligence?

The turkey!! Is this a sign of spring?

Jeff, exactly what I was thinking.
Jen, when the turkey comes down from on high, the end of winter is nigh!

It's a peacock. A bunch of them live on the grounds of the Cathedral - they go rambling and cross the street into the park sometimes.
It's my suspicion that once in a while one is captured and eaten by adventurous and frugal chefs.
If you hear an eerie scream while walking by the Cathedral, it's one of these birds.Or a ghost.

I've heard of the peacocks at the Cathedral but have never seen them there. This girl, however , is definitely a wild turkey.
