Rose-colored glasses in Morningside Park
I have returned. Mostly. I'm still a little jet-lagged.
Germany was great! I saw my aunt for the first time since I was five, and an uncle and cousins for the first time. My father met a friend he hadn't seen in 60 years. There was much riding of fast, clean and on-time trains. I visited the Rhine and Neckar rivers as well as the North and Baltic seas. Plus there was a surprise encounter with Paris Hilton! Well, sort of... Details to follow.
You came back before the world cup?

cool shot! yeah, I've never heard anyone say that they didn't enjoy themselves in Germany. I guess they get a bad rap.

No world cup! Not that I was going to go to a match but I was told that tickets were nearly impossible to come by. They were sold by lottery and if you won you had no control over what match, or even city, you would get tickets for.

Thanks! How'd you like the drive into Valdez?

The drive to Valdez was great. We stayed in a state park 90 miles out. My famous hat blew off in a great gust of wind. It went into the Little Tolsino River and caught on a tree branch. After I tried catching it with a fishing pole I waded in and rescued it. It has also been dunked into the bay at Skagway as well. I remain dry.
