Elkton, Tennessee is just above the state border with Alabama. It's the first, or last depending on your direction of travel, stop for sin as you drive along I-65 in Tennessee. The Boobie Bungalow appeared to be out of business (it's probably not a good sign if you have to offer guys free drinks to see naked women), but the Shady Lawn Truck Stop "Home of the Big Chicken" had a vast selection of magazines for the lonely traveler. On the other side of the interstate was an adult bookstore.
I'm not sure where the Shady Lawn Truck Stop got its name. There wasn't much of a lawn and what shade there might be would be in the shadow of the big chicken. In case you can't tell the chicken had a knife under one wing and a fork under the other.
If you can't be in Elkton this weekend might I suggest the annual World Championship Punkin' Chunkin' in Delaware? I can't make it this year but the AOL Cityguide is using a photo I took at last year's competition on their site.
