More from the Saturday walk.
At 3500 feet the main span of the George Washington Bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world when completed in 1931. That record lasted six years. The Golden Gate Bridge, at 4200 feet long, surpassed the GWB in 1937. Weather permitting, I'm flying to San Francisco tomorrow. I don't know if I'll get to see the Golden Gate Bridge. The longest suspension bridge in the world is the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge in Japan with a span of 6529 feet.
I just love lighthouses. That is a great photo.
