The tomato has now been at my place for a little over two months. The skin has become wrinkled but fruit itself is hard as it has ever been. Dessication is occurring faster than decay. That shouldn't be interpreted as saying my apartment is bacteria-free.

Impressive. -Albeit a bit frightening.

Have you kept this tomato refrigerated?
From what country/state did this tomato originate? Do you know?

It is frightening. The tomato has been sitting on a kitchen counter the whole time. Like many New York apartments, mine is quite warm, pretty much a constant 75 degrees without turning the heat on. Other fruits and vegetables rot as you might expect.

Oh, Joe. I just happened upon this time lapse video of a tomato tonight and I just couldn't wait to share it with you.

That's hilarious! A time lapse of my tomato would have been so boring.
