The Arlington Patriot's Day parade had most of the elements of a good parade. Not pictured but also essential to a good parade were politicians riding in convertibles, bagpipers, shiny dump trucks, a librarian book cart precision drill team and the stash of candy I managed to gather.
Disappointingly missing from the parade were the local high school marching band and the Shriners.
Luckily missing from the parade? Clowns.
where are the beauty queens?

There weren't any beauty queens. A Miss Patriot Day would have been a bonus!

You don't like the clowns either, eh?

Judy: So do I, but, lucky for them, they aren't official pageant winners.
Dane: Clowns are okay in a circus but not out in public.
