If anyone is still tracking me in Ohio five months after I visited, this picture is out of order. It was taken before I got to Gallipolis.
The most frustrating thing about driving along the Ohio River is that there often isn't a good view of the river or, where there is a scenic view, there's nowhere to stop.
I was making my way eastward on Rt. 52 when I saw a sign saying "Southernmost Point in Ohio". Being the holder of a geography degree, I had to stop. The town's name was South Point, which sounded promising. I kept driving until the road curved northward and I hit Burlington. Not seeing a monument or marker I headed back and still didn't see a monument or marker. The most southern point I could find that was safe to stop and had a view of the river was someone's driveway overlooking a bunch of barges and West Virginia across the river.
