In honor of Ken Lewis being dumped by Bank of America shareholders today, I bring you the giant anti-Ken Lewis sign in Beatty, Nevada. I don't know that there's a connection between Ken Lewis and Lewis Street. Beatty was an interesting, isolated town a few miles east of Death Valley. More pictures to come someday but first we need to hop eastward to visit Steubenville City of Murals.
I like it! Is the protest due to foreclosures on BofA loans?

That would be my guess. I didn't see much new residential housing in Beatty. There did seem to be a site where a casino was planned but not built so maybe that was it.

OK, I just saw this today and I want to know what the story is. Anyone?

Once again Google is our friend! I did a bit of searching on Google News and found this item from 2005. A California businessman, who owns many businesses in Beatty, put up the billboard in 2004 to protest BoA's plan to close the local branch.

...And the branch is still open. Interesting that you can see the sign from the bank!
