So having just stumbled across your blog (via planetproject on twitter) I was kind of shocked to see photos of my beloved gallipolis town. My mom grew up there and I spent a great deal of my childhood down there. In fact, I plan on going down this summer, taking my grandma back to her hometown. So, my question is, why? I mean, it's a great town, but not really a tourist attraction at all and not somewhere I think anyone would really want to go visit unless they had family or memories there.

I was passing through on a road trip up the Ohio Valley and it was a good place to stop for the night. Gallipolis seemed like a pleasant little town and it has a little Bob Evans action going on.

Have you been to the Mothman Festival in Point Pleasant? I may have to return next September for it.
