One of several Kallet Theaters across Central New York, the Pulaski Kallet Theater has fallen on hard times. The movie house opened in the mid-1930s and closed in the early 1980s.
Not that it mattered since our family never went to movies, but the Kallet was the closest theater to where we lived. I saw Star Wars there in 1977! After the movies left the building was used as an auto parts store. The auto parts store has also closed. Come to think of it, downtown Pulaski was beginning to resemble a ghost town when I was there in November.
The Kallet Theater in Oneida looks much healthier.
That last picture of the K is wonderful wonderful. When it hits Flickr, I'm faving it.
