Isn't that about the prettiest little building you ever did see?
The route and destinations on this trip were more improvised than planned. I wanted to drive through the Cascades and down the Columbia Gorge, spend some time in Portland, drive up the coast, see the rainforest, and head back to Seattle. The details in between I left mainly to happenstance, which sometimes works out for the good and sometimes not.
Ellensburg looked like it could be interesting but it was at an awkward distance -too far a drive for lunch and too short a drive to stay for the night. Still, lunch in Leavenworth left me stuffed so I walked around downtown Ellensburg for an hour or so before continuing to Yakima. It was nice little college town. In many ways it reminded me of a more rural version of Bowling Green.
