Here's the falls at Pedernales Falls State Park, a bit more than an hour's drive north of San Antonio in the Hill Country of Texas. The Pedernales is not much of a river in the middle of a drought. It makes for an interesting landscape though.

The landscape in the hill country is really amazing, isn't it? I visited a park on the Pedernales many years ago, but I don't think it was this one -- I remember there were waterfalls, though, and you could walk beneath them around a big pool. Maybe that IS this park. Not sure.

I really enjoyed the park and wished I had more than a morning to explore it.
