Tuesday, March 1, 1864

it snows or raines all
day I guess we have some
mud

it is Very cold

Wednesday, March 2, 1864

the sun rose clear and
rise (wise?)- about 9 O'clock
it is geting prety
sticky we had a
drill before it hard(?)
up

Thursday, March 3, 1864

Very nise, had a good
drill the mud is
drying up some

Saturday, March 5, 1864

(no entry for March 4th)

after inspection I went
down to the Coral
a Coral is plase
where many horses
is kept and stabeled
Etc

was on gard to day Saturday
bought a watch for 15 dolars

I have written the above
one day a head it should
be written heare

Monday, March 7, 1864

have very sore eyes

drilling and treding in the mud
is about all we do now

comenced laying out our
streets it will cost
some labor and we must
do it

it rained all day and part of
the night it makes
our new turnpike
prety soft

Got a letter from katie(?)
it was directed to auburn
it chears us we
hav a light drill
