Friday, December 2, 1864

I went to the Vilage got
my picture backs brought
them up and put in the
pictures. I staid to Cains
all night it rained considerbal

Libbie staid to Mrs Brown
all night but was home as soon
as light enough

Saturday, December 3, 1864

started for home this morn
got hom fond diner ready
and one sober fase...

Monday, December 5, 1864

got M bram horse and bugy
went down to Cains lib packed
up and then we came up to
George warts heare I left hur
and took the bugy home then
came back to Warts staid
all night heare

Tuesday, December 6, 1864

this morning I put on
my soft cloths and Libbie
and I goes down to cains and
he takes us to pulaski
made a payment on land and
Libbie and I had our fases
taken for hur mMother and one
of hurs for myself got back befo

Wednesday, December 7, 1864

to day I am at home all day
my friends comes to se me
and it is Quite sad day...
many serious thoughts I am
alone most of the day with
Bidy. Phy, Libbie and I sing severl peases
to night liby and I fixes
up the trinkets and packs my
haversacks. is there one sigh

(I added the period after Bidy to reduce confusion. Bidy and Libbie are both nicknames for Vincent's wife Elizabeth.)

Thursday, December 8, 1864

I got to Albany at 4 Oclock in Ny 11
got up in good segon (? not sure of word) Jane had
brexfest ready we eat and
the horse is soon ready and
and now I part Father and mother
sisters brother, O. and Wife.
never had I left home when
it stured up the fealins so dep
to last so long, O, my many
thoughts

got to Philadelpha about
daylight to Washinton D.C.
at 11 and at the __inly a little
after 12, find th e Hospital
prety well filed up many I
know. but it all seames
lonesom to me....
wrote bidy a letter this afternoon

H.E. Davis the felow that
was furloughed with me came
back to day he has gained som

it snowed about 2 inches on
Friday night it is prety cold
